Understand Our Why

When Father Knows Best!

Education is one of our key values and it’s one I am most emotional about. As I was preparing for high school, my Dad and I had a father and daughter “talk”. I still remember where I was sitting at the kitchen table when this discussion occurred.

Family Dynamics

Let me paint a personal glimpse into my family dynamics so you can get an idea of the values which my parents instilled in our family.

Immigrant and depression descendances
World War II veteran
Worked two jobs until the last child graduated from college
He a Father First and not a “Friend”!
Dad talked at you and not to you!
Dinner was the most important meal of the day. Every night we gathered together as a family, said Grace, we ate what mom cooked and shared the days events.
Religious education was instituted

Father -Daughter Talk

In essence he said, Theresa, I have 3 sons and you. The one I worry about the most is you. The boys know when they acquire a family, they are responsible to support their families. As a girl, you need the education more than they do! You need to be prepared to support your family in case something happens to your spouse; because things do happen! The only way to insure you can support yourself and family is to get a good education. Pick a career where you will always obtain employment and have an income. Getting a good education with employment opportunities were instilled in all of his children.

This conversation has resonated with me my entire life and little did I know then how true those words would become a reality! Basic fundamental values never so out of style. This advice was good then, is now and will be tomorrow!

In summary, The HEAL curriculum was created with this philosophy in mind. It’s the first of its kind in the equine industry. It’s presents a unique opportunity for the right self starter equine practitioner to acquire various levels of expertise as an equine lymphatic therapist. Challenge and empower yourself to be the best you can be! Isn’t that what education is all about?
