This is an MLD Specialist who desires to acquire an additional advanced specialty skill as an equine lymphedema therapist. As an equine lymphedema therapist, you will learn the causes of chronic progressive lymphedema (CPL), identify and apply the proper wrapping protocol, as well as the proper use of compression garments. This high niche market is predominantly in the draft, draft/cross, or large breed horses such as thoroughbreds and potentially the quarter horse market. Equine lymphedema therapists will instruct owners on how to manage their horse's chronic progressive lymphedema (CPL) and or chronic swelling disorders (equine lymphedema). a wrapping in-class session will be one-on-one personal training. Completion and content will be discussed with HEAL depending on individual needs.
